Between two existing vehicular arteries, an arts district is planned atop future buried power lines. The masterplan is conceived as though cut from a single block of local : a series of diagonal cuts intersect to form courtyards, where art patrons can socialize and interact with the artists themselves.
At the terminus of one of the urban axes, a former becomes an art installation and urban monument. The infrastructure that once carried current through the site is repurposed as a civic marker, anchoring the district in its own history.
